Anchor's Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program bridges the gap between preschool and kindergarten, providing young learners with a structured, engaging, and inquiry-driven educational experience. Which includes development through a mix of academic readiness, play-based learning, and essential life skills.

Why Choose Transitional Kindergarten?
  • Comprehensive Curriculum – A blend of literacy, math, Bible lessons, and inquiry.
  • Engaging Learning Strategies – Worksheets, games, and informal teaching encourage active learning.
  • Strong Academic Foundation – Most students are ready to read by the end of the year.
  • Faith-Based Learning – Biblical teachings are woven into daily instruction.
  • Full-Time Structure – Unlike part-time preschool, TK offers consistent daily learning experiences.

Assessment in TK: Our proficiency-based grading system ensures that each child receives targeted support:

✅ Mastered – Fully understands and applies the concept.
🟡 Proficient – Demonstrates understanding with some support.
🔵 Developing – Still building foundational knowledge.
🔴 Needs Improvement – Requires additional guidance and intervention.

Parents receive report cards twice a year and participate in biannual conferences with teachers to discuss progress.

Skill Development & Educational Framework: At Anchor, we aim to equip students with lifelong skills that will prepare them for success, no matter how the world changes.

🌱 Key Skills We Prioritize:
Self-Management – Developing independence and responsibility.
Research & Critical Thinking – Encouraging curiosity and problem-solving.
Collaboration – Learning to work effectively with others.
Communication – Expressing ideas clearly and confidently.

Early Childhood Learning Approaches: Our TK program provides a more structured and consistent learning experience than traditional preschool.
  • Full-time enrollment ensures steady progress in learning.
  • Play-based learning balances academics with creativity and exploration.
  • Personalized instruction ensures that advanced readers receive enrichment while all students receive the support they need.

Student Learning & Class Enrollment: Every child learns at their own pace, and student happiness is key to academic success.
  • Small class sizes (maximum 20 students) allow for personalized attention. 1:6 average student teacher ratio
  • Inquiry-driven learning fosters passion and authentic engagement in education.
  • High demand for TK enrollment means families are encouraged to apply early.
