MAP Growth Assessments
At Anchor Lutheran School, we use the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP Growth) assessments to help track and support student learning. These standardized tests provide valuable insight into each child’s academic growth and help teachers tailor instruction to meet individual needs.
What is MAP?
At Anchor Lutheran School, we use the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP Growth) assessments to help track and support student learning. These standardized tests provide valuable insight into each child’s academic growth and help teachers tailor instruction to meet individual needs.
What is MAP?
- Who takes it? Students in Grades 2–10
- How often? Administered twice per year (Fall & Spring)
- Subjects tested: Reading, Mathematics, and Language Usage
- Who provides it? The assessments are administered by NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association), a trusted nonprofit organization with over 40 years of experience in student assessment.
- MAP is adaptive, meaning the test adjusts to each student’s level—whether they are performing above, at, or below grade expectations.
- NWEA’s “norms” are based on the performance of millions of students worldwide, providing a reliable benchmark.
- Results help teachers identify strengths, target areas for improvement, and monitor academic growth over time.
- MAP is widely used by independent Christian schools and other educational institutions around the world.
- NWEA Parent Toolkit – Learn how to understand and support your child’s MAP results.
- Khan Academy MAP Math Practice – Free math practice aligned to MAP scores.
- Lexile MAP Reading & Writing Practice – Literacy resources tailored to student reading levels.
